ACJF Roast & Toast Gala Raises Funds for Civil Aid to the Poor An event recognizing retired federal court Judge U.W. Clemon for his accomplishments in the legal profession raised more than $87,000. Proceeds from the event will be used for grants for civil legal aid to the poor. "We are proud of the support shown by the legal community to recognize Judge Clemon for his many years of outstanding work. Additionally, we are pleased about the support given to make our Pioneers of Justice Roast and Toast Gala a very successful event," Colleen Rutland, ACJF board member, said. The funds raised will be used for grants to organizations that offer civil legal aid to the poor. In addition to the Gala, ACJF’s newly formed Junior Board hosted a silent auction as its community project. Nearly $10,000 was raised from donated items such as vacation packages, jewelry, antique items and sports paraphernalia. “I am proud of the members of the Junior Board who were very committed to this project. Their hard work helped to ensure a great event,” Ken Riley, Junior Board President, said. ACJF thanks our sponsors for their support! |
